Who this is for
Organization admins. MCP access is off by default and must be enabled before your team members can connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any other AI agent to Go Fig.The two toggles
Go Fig has two independent org-level settings:
You can turn on MCP without AI Write-Back, and read-only agents still work. You cannot turn on AI Write-Back without MCP. Writes flow through the same connection as reads.
How to enable
1
Open Organization Settings
Click the Settings icon in the left sidebar then select Organization and open the General tab.
2
Turn on Go Fig MCP
Scroll to the Go Fig MCP section and toggle Allow MCP tool access to this organization’s data to on.
3
(Optional) Turn on AI Write-Back
If you want AI agents to be able to create records in connected accounting systems (like QuickBooks), also toggle AI Write-Back on.
4
Save
Click Save at the bottom of the page.
What happens next
After enabling MCP, your team can:- Follow the AI agent connection guide to add Go Fig to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or other MCP clients
- Query data, build Flows, and create Boards through conversation
- Enable AI Write-Back (step 3 above)
- Turn on per-connector MCP access for each accounting integration. See MCP Access on Connectors
Security notes
- Authentication is per-user. Each team member connects with their own Go Fig credentials (OAuth) or an admin-issued API key. MCP inherits all existing Go Fig permissions so Data Roles, project access, and field restrictions all apply.
- Every tool call is audited. Go Fig records every MCP request (user, tool, organization, parameters, result status, and duration) for compliance review.
- Writes are deliberate. Write access stays off until you enable AI Write-Back, and AI agents show you each create, update, or delete before running it. Every write is recorded in the audit log.
- Disable anytime. Turning either toggle off immediately stops new tool calls for the entire organization.
